Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies

Requirements

Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Studies (BAIS) must complete all NKU graduation requirements including:

  • General education requirements must be completed in the first 60 hours of college-level work
  • 45 hours of upper-division coursework
  • A minimum of 120 credit hours
  • A minimum 2.0 GPA

In addition, the BAIS major requires coursework drawn from four different disciplines or interdisciplinary programs.

  • Two minors or areas of concentration from the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Two additional minors or areas of concentration taken from within the College of Arts and Sciences or in related programs housed outside the college
  • One capstone course from the following list of options
    • IST 492 Directed Research
    • IST 494 Seminar: Topics
    • IST 496 Internship
    • IST 499 Independent Study: Directed Readings
  • Portfolio submission

No course can be counted in more than one area of concentration.  Also, no grade of "D" will be accepted in any minor or area of concentration. With approval of the program director, unique areas of concentration or minors may be substituted.
